Galatasaray University is considered one of the public universities located in the city of Istanbul and offers its education in the French language. It is one of the most important institutions of Galatasaray with its sports club and high school. The university was established during the era of President Turgut Ozal, where retired consul Coşkun Karaca made efforts to establish the university, and at the end of his efforts, it was completed. The Turkish President and the French President met in 1991 in Paris and the university was established.
