Manisa Celal Bayar University was established in 1992 in the city of Manisa. The name of the university comes from the name of Mr. Celal Bayar, who is considered a companion of the founder of the Turkish Republic, Kemal Ataturk, and who in turn served as the first civilian president of the Turkish Republic. The university began providing its services through three institutions in the year of its founding, namely the Higher Institute of Accounting, the Youth Sports Academy, and the Institute of Education, and the university was officially opened in 1992.
